For a brief period of time, the residents of a small part of Hastings enjoyed the freedom and liberty that came with living outside the jurisdiction of the town corporation. Fiercely independent, they resisted all attempts by the town to control them.
Less than two months ago I was finishing up a project with MSL, eagerly awaiting the first outing of newly composed folk songs based on the history of a small, but significant area of Hastings known as The America Ground.
Faced with the difficulties of trying to get our new project Rock On, Rock Fair off the ground during an unprecedented time of forced isolation, we have quickly learned to navigate the possibilities of online meetings and interaction via the internet.
