Net & Line, 2013-2017
Photos by Margaret Sheehy
Net & Line began in 2013 with MSL conducting research and development in Looe, Cornwall, Whitstable, Kent and Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk; finally concentrating on working in partnership with The Maltings, Wells-next-the-Sea, to develop a programme for the new Maltings Gallery.
Net & Line was built around a ‘storyboard’ developed by Christine Harmar-Brown, Jane Bruce and Margaret Sheehy. The aesthetic impact of Wells beach, salt marshes and the tidal channel that radically changes the aspect of Wells twice a day provided an extraordinary platform for, and inspiration to, artists and helped to draw a significant audience to the town, providing a step-change for arts in the region.
Net & Line was funded by Arts Council England.
